A family owned, independent distillery, doing things the traditional way.
Tullibardine was set up to produce a light, nutty malt. Since 2013 Tullibardine produces a variety of cask finishes including Sauterness, Sherry and Burgandy malts. The original Tullibardine whisky was known as being a slightly oily with floral and nutty notes. The new owners have kept the light, floral and malty character with a variety of cask finishes imparting their own character.
Tullibardine Distillery dates back to late 1940s as a distillery for producing hand crafted, Highland single malt Scotch whisky. Since 2011, the distillery has been under the ownership of the independent, family-owned spirits company, Terroirs Distillers.
Tullibardine whisky distillery was founded in 1949 on the site of an old brewery, one which was said to have brewed ale for King James IV’s coronation back in 1488! The brewery itself dated back to the 12th century so it's fair to say that the site has had an incredibly long brewing and distilling history.
